The Opus3 was created specifically to bring entry- and mid-range pickups closer together, creating an even tighter cartridge ecosystem. Grado designed the Opus3 as an economical wood cartridge, taking advantage of the technology and processes found in more expensive models.
Opus3 is located inside the case from Maple. After years of experience with Maple headphones from the Heritage and Statement series, Grado decided it was time to apply them to the turntable. Maple produces a bright and rich sound, while remaining stable and clear. By changing the thermal aging processes, the cabinet gains the ability to better dampen and control resonant frequencies.
