Thanks to the specially designed DALI crossover, the Alteco C-1 can be used both as a height speaker and as a traditional stereo speaker. The DALI Alteco C-1 is able to achieve this even without special equalization to improve the effects of HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function, a technology used in Atmos certified speakers). If we had included non-linear HRTF equalization in the DALI Alteco C-1 , it would not be possible to use them as universal neutral speakers, and they were limited to only one kind of application.

The design of the DALI Alteco C-1 is the best in several worlds of sound, for maximum versatility and multiple use cases. The unique sloping front design and two sound modes allow the DALI Alteco C-1 speakers to be used in many different scenarios. Select UP on the front panel to direct the sound up, or DOWN for close listening, for example.

Thanks to the sloping front panel, the DALI Alteco C-1 speakers are ideal for applications where sound radiation needs to be directed upwards. Combined with a height channel-enabled surround sound processor (Dolby Atmos, DTS-X or Auro-3D), the DALI Alteco C-1 can be placed on front or even rear speakers and deliver true height information through ceiling reflections.

The low loss speaker cones are made of lightweight paper and reinforced with wood fibers. The use of wood fibers imparts a non-uniformity to the diffuser surface, which drastically reduces the occurrence of resonances. This ensures that every detail of the audio signals is reproduced in the best possible way.

The dome tweeter delivers best-in-class playback resolution with extended frequency response, wide penetration and low coloration. A direct legacy from the High End DALI ranges. The tweeter is based on an ultra-lightweight woven material that is more than twice as light as other manufacturers' materials (0.056 mg/mm2).
