Italian audio engineers from Sonus faber have introduced the Omnia premium wireless audio system. The design of the new product should especially appeal to those who are tired of simple rectangular soundbars. The top panel of the wide and deep body with the texture of natural wood is completely dedicated to the Senso touch interface.
This is both an indication that decorates the device and a control system for all its functions. So, you can choose the source: there are several options for digital and analogue connections, including vinyl - the system has a built-in MM phono preamplifier. For communication with the TV, HDMI with ARC is provided, for smartphones - Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2 and Chromecast. The new product connects to the network via Ethernet (10/100 Mbit/s) or Wi-Fi (dual-band).
Omnia's sound features Crescendo technology, providing surround sound and immersion through two full-range lines located on the side walls. In addition to them, a whole set of emitters is installed in a 4-way closed-type system with a total power of 490 W.
These include a pair of small (0.75-inch) silk dome tweeters with a neodymium plate magnet system, two 3-inch midrange drivers with classic paper pulp cones, and a down-firing 6.5-inch woofer with an aluminum cone. Together, all this allows the Omnia to cover the frequency range from 30 Hz to 25 kHz.
