R50 - LATEST speakers for Dolby Atmos

The latest KEF R50 speakers are designed to reproduce the Dolby Atmos format, installed above the existing front and rear speakers. Knowing how the human ear perceives sound, KEF engineers were able to perfectly reproduce the vertical dimension of Dolby Atmos effects using sound reflected from the ceiling. Designed for the new Blade, the UNI-Q module features a closed cabinet design that perfectly matches the Q, R and Reference series speakers, both aesthetically and sonically. A sophisticated 25mm tweeter at the center of the 130mm mid-bass driver, "tangerine" waveguide for uniform sound dispersion, creates an accurate, fast and clean midrange band, perfectly matched to the latest KEF speaker series.

The combination of a massive ventilated magnet assembly with a large yet lightweight aluminum voice coil driving a lightweight, rigid and durable hybrid material cone delivers clear and deep bass with excellent dynamics and high power handling.

Inside the cabinet (choice of classic Piano Black and real wood veneer in rosewood or walnut), every single component confirms KEF's technological leadership. Computer-calculated crossovers allow you to fine-tune the level of each driver for a more even frequency response. Layered damping panels help prevent cabinet vibration and its detrimental effect on mid and low frequency sound quality.
