Description
FiiO R7 is a high-definition desktop audio player and streamer designed exclusively for stationary use.

The R7 fits well with FiiO's specialization, but it's the first such model in the history of the company known for its portables. R7 allows beginners and audiophiles to create their own desktop Hi-Fi system, it is capable of working as a network streamer and local storage of music files (USB, 64 GB "on board" plus a memory card up to 2 TB), supports high-resolution audio formats, up to MQA.

Connection options:
With a wide range of front and rear inputs and outputs, the R7 allows you to use it as the centerpiece of a modular Hi-Fi system of your own design. It can support a variety of audio connections, the USB-A port has a host function for additional hard drives or interfaces such as the KB1 keyboard, and the microSD slot supports cards up to 2TB.
Rear connectors: two RCA (in), one optical (in and out), one coaxial (in and out), two 3-pin balanced XLR (line out), one USB-C, one USB-A, one Ethernet and slot for microSD card.
Front connections: One 6.35mm headphones, 4.4mm balanced headphones and 4-pin XLR balanced headphones.

Control system:
The most obvious way to control the R7 and how it manages connected devices is with the built-in 5-inch high-definition portrait touchscreen. This screen provides an intuitive GUI based on Android 10 so you can enjoy a variety of third-party apps, including popular streaming services. The second way is using a mobile device that has the FiiO Music app downloaded.

4 use cases:
In order not to get confused between different usage scenarios, on the front panel above the volume control, there is a switch:
PO: Only front audio outputs are active.
LO: Only the rear audio outputs are active (maximum output is fixed).
PRE OUT: Only the rear audio outputs are active (with adjustable volume).
PO + PRE OUT: Default selection which has active front and rear outputs with adjustable volume.

Operating modes:
Android Mode: Allows you to use third-party apps such as streaming services.
Pure Music Mode: FiiO exclusive mode for more immersive music.
USB DAC Mode: Enhances the sound of any connected PC or mobile device.
Bluetooth Receiver Mode: Broadcasts high quality audio through R7. Supports AAC, SBC and LDAC.
AirPlay Receiver Mode: Wirelessly connect an Apple iOS device. 
Roon Ready Mode: Get an ergonomic player in seconds with Roon Ready R7 certification.
Coaxial/optical decoding mode: Decode audio from connected components.

Nutrition:
The R7 has a built-in 30W switching power supply that supports the use of external 12V/3A DC power supplies. The AC circuit provides filtering and purification with a large capacity choke and special high voltage capacitors, while the DC circuit adopts a high voltage design. +/- 12 V. 

It also offers the following features :
Twelve 470uF capacitors to adjust and clean power and reduce noise.
A metal cover fixes the transformer to the main power board to reduce jitter and stabilize the sound.
Each stage of the audio circuitry uses ultra-low noise LDOs to regulate voltage and provide stable, clean power.
