Streams video to compatible displays, as well as HDCP 2.3, so you have no hassle when migrating to new devices. HDMI 2.1 also supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to eliminate lag, stuttering and frame tearing for a smooth gaming experience. Various enhancements such as ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and QFT (Quick Frame Transfer) help optimize latency and further limit latency to ensure you are always on top of your game. HDMI 2.1 specification, HDR10+ and the described pass-through capabilities are supported for HDMI IN 1-3, HDMI OUT MAIN and SUB/ZONE 2 in secondary output mode.

The VSX-935 is compatible with the 5.2.2-channel configuration of the latest Dolby Atmos cinema audio platform. Other audio codecs such as PCM and DSD can be downmixed using Dolby Surround to produce 3D surround sound. DTS:X is a next-generation audio codec from DTS that uses object-based audio to create new immersive and interactive audio experiences. Because DTS:X can automatically adapt sound to existing channels and speaker systems, no special speaker placement is required. Experience an immersive soundscape with incredibly rich and realistic sound. Other audio codecs such as PCM and DSD can be mixed with DTS Neural:X to produce 3D surround sound. When playing any Dolby format, enabling Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer provides a more immersive listening experience by creating virtual surround and height effects from traditional speakers without the need for additional surround or height speakers. With DTS Virtual:X, you can enjoy 3D immersive audio like DTS:X without the need for height or rear speakers. The technology supports 2 to 7.1.4 channel input sources to deliver 2 to 5.1 or 7.1 channel speaker arrangements. DTS Virtual:X works with all DTS codecs, including DTS:X.
Create the optimal acoustic environment for the Pioneer VSX-935-B using Pioneer's MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System), designed with expertise from professional recording studios. Thanks to a special microphone, the system automatically compensates for differences in speaker size, level and distance and equalizes response. By adding the VSX-935 to the Sonos ecosystem using Connect or Port, you can play any music or audio source in your Sonos app. By selecting Volume Pass Through mode in the Sonos app settings, you can control the device's volume using the Sonos app or yourself. Enjoy high-quality AV receiver playback with the Sonos app, just like you do with your favorite Sonos system. Thanks to the power function, the VSX-935 can directly drive speakers in another room without the need for a separate amplifier. Moreover, a dedicated Zone 2 DAC allows you to listen to all digital audio sources. The VSX-935 also features Zone B audio output jacks to extend the main zone audio by connecting a wireless headphone dock. You can listen to the sound being played in your living room using them.
Live music streaming from compatible devices is possible to the VSX-935 using built-in Bluetooth wireless technology (version 4.2). The VSX-935 supports A2DP/AVRCP profiles, supporting SBC/aptX/aptX HD codecs for the transmitter and SBC/AAC codecs for the receiver. You can not only listen to music using the receiver via Bluetooth, but also listen to the receiver's main audio output with a high-quality codec using compatible headphones. With Wake on Play, the AV receiver automatically wakes up and switches input when a Bluetooth source starts playing. Finally, the VSX-935 receiver works with “OK Google,” so you can control playback of various Chromecast-supported music services by asking your Google Assistant-enabled device to play, stop, skip, or turn up or down the volume. This receiver also works with Alexa, so you can also use voice commands to control music services that support built-in Alexa devices. With both voice controls, you can easily control and enjoy music services or Internet radio with your voice, without using a remote control or smartphone app.
