DAC Pro-Ject DAC BOX DS

The Pro-Ject DAC Box DS digital-to-analogue converter is equipped with three inputs - USB, optical and coaxial. The device is based on a PCM1792 chip from Texas Instrument, and via a USB connection it can receive a digital stream with parameters of 24 bits / 192 kHz in asynchronous mode. The converter supports audio signals with all standard sampling rates, including all multiples of 44.1 kHz.

The DAC in the Pro-Ject DAC Box DS works with 8x oversampling of the input signal, which can significantly improve the accuracy of processing low-level signals, and reduce high-frequency noise. There are two options for digital filter characteristics: steep and optimum phase. Each of them has its own subjective advantages when listening to this or that musical material, and the user can choose the best one according to his taste.

The ultra-linear analog converter circuitry is made from high-end components and provides the low output impedance of the Pro-Ject DAC Box DS, allowing it to match well with a variety of amplifiers and connecting cables. The device is made in a metal case and has a thick aluminum front panel. The large LCD display with backlight located on it displays all operating modes of the device. The connectors on the rear panel have gold-plated contact surfaces. With only three buttons, you can turn on the device, as well as select the desired input and switch the filter characteristic.
