X-SPDIF 3 – Digital Audio Interface
X-SPDIF 3 is the perfect choice for those wanting to utilize the USB connection from their source, offering plenty of output options for various connections. It's a small device with huge potential for anyone looking to integrate a digital interface.
Digital High Fidelity with the X-SPDIF 3
X-SPDIF 3 is the latest digital audio interface in the Matrix Audio product lineup. The interface allows you to integrate high-quality USB audio into your audio system and connect it to any peripheral audio device. It also enables USB asynchronous transmission and digital audio data conversion. You can use USB input for conversion to Optical, Coaxial, AES, and IIS-LVDS. Compared to the previous generation of the X-SPDIF, the new version supports IIS-LVDS, which completely isolates the digital output from the USB ground, reducing noise. X-SPDIF 3 supports up to 32bit/768kHz PCM and 1bit/DSD512 signal output, resulting in excellent performance and sound quality from both PCs and mobile devices.
Dual Femtosecond Clocks
The X-SPDIF 3 is equipped with two Accusilicon femtosecond clocks as the reference clock source to accurately restore the original sound. The FPGA of the interface automatically performs frequency division and switching control, powered by an independent ultra-low-noise LDO regulator. This clean power supply allows for an interference-free listening experience.
What is IIS-LVDS?
X-SPDIF 3 can be configured into 4 different types of IIS-LVDS interface definitions by using the switch on the bottom of the device, ensuring compatibility with various backend devices. This feature broadens the range of applications and functionalities of the X-SPDIF 3.
Dual Clock Mode
X-SPDIF 3 can be set to 2 different clock output modes to match different backend devices. You can adjust this setting on the back of the unit.
Easy Audio Code Conversion
X-SPDIF 3 is equipped with a DoP conversion function, which converts DSD DoP codes into Native DSD. The X-SPDIF 3 then outputs the signal directly through the IIS-LVDS port. This allows for easy DSD conversion and provides a solution for DACs that only support Native DSD.
External Power Supply – For Reliable Power
X-SPDIF 3 can be powered by either the USB bus or an external power supply. The power status is indicated by a dedicated LED. When connected to a device with insufficient power, such as a smartphone or tablet, you can connect an external power supply for stable and sufficient power. When using an external power supply, USB bus power is cut off to prevent any noise from entering the signal.
CNC-Machined Aluminum Chassis
Like other Matrix Audio products, X-SPDIF 3 features an aluminum chassis for better electromagnetic shielding, reducing the effects of mechanical vibrations and electromagnetic interference. The chassis is precisely machined, designed with precision, and matches the aesthetics of other high-end Matrix Audio products. The design of the X-SPDIF 3 helps to isolate interference from peripheral devices, allowing for a noise-free listening experience every time.
