The DMS-650 supports native 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and DSD 512, and is also Roon compatible and MQA certified. The DMS-650 allows you to stream from built-in services TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Spotify Connect, vTuner, or from files stored on a network computer or NAS drive. It includes three USB-A ports for playback from connected USB drives, flash drives, and even an SD card. The DMS-650 also includes aptX™ HD input and output (output for Bluetooth speakers or headphones), as well as Airplay. Additional features include Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity, TruBit™ 7-step selective PCM upsampling up to 768 kHz, and selective PCM to DSD conversion with 3-step DSD upsampling. The DMS-650 file and streaming player brings together several areas of Cary Audio's technical research to deliver a high-resolution digital audio source that is easy to use, meets today's Internet content requirements, and is optimized for sound quality.
The DMS-650 is based on the new AK4497EQ VERITA high-resolution DAC chip, a custom streaming platform with new Wi-Fi network cards and the company's proven approach to power management, RFI protection and high linearity of analog output stages. For the new generation of Cary Audio streamers, designers have added several dynamic front-panel appearance elements, including a new “dark theme” color scheme for the black anodized aluminum chassis.
