Rotel RB-1590
The device is equipped with balanced and unbalanced inputs, two pairs of reliable screw terminals, has a 12-volt control trigger. The Rotel RB-1590 also features overheating and overvoltage protection circuits, as well as power staging to reduce power surges.
The two-channel Rotel RB-1590 power amplifier works in class A/B, so it is built in a massive high-rise cabinet, equipped with many ventilation holes. The device develops an output power of 350 W per channel (with a resistance of connected speakers of 8 ohms), which, combined with a significant current delivered to the load, allows it to work confidently with the most complex acoustics. The amplifier is great for high-quality sounding of large rooms, and several RB-1590 can become the basis of a high-end home theater.
The basis of the design of the Rotel RB-1590, like any Hi-Fi amplifier, is the power supply. In this model, it is made on the basis of two toroidal transformers, which were manufactured by order of Rotel. The power supply also uses UK-made BHC capacitors for reduced power loss and fast charge/discharge times. Thus, when a significant surge current is required to be applied to the load almost instantly to play dynamic musical passages, the RB-1590 can easily cope with this. In addition, a significant headroom in the output current in the power supply guarantees deep and controlled bass, which are the basis of the sound of the audio system.
The presence of two transformers made it possible to build the entire amplifier on the principle of double mono. While developing the circuitry for the new amplifier, along with precise laboratory tests, the mandatory subjective sound quality evaluation sessions were carried out, which is in line with the Rotel Balanced Design philosophy.
The device can be installed on a shelf (which, however, must be chosen carefully, since the amplifier weighs more than 38 kg), or mounted in a rack (standard 5U mounts are included).
