Stereo amplifier Cary Audio CAD-120S MKII Black
The previous generation of CAD 120S, Rocket 88R and V 12R power amplifiers received excellent reviews for their consistent power output, incredible value for money and sound quality. Continuing this proud tradition, we present the next generation of stereo tube power amplifier, the CAD 120S MKII. This innovative stereo power amplifier is rated at 60 watts per channel in triode mode and 120 watts per channel in ultra-linear mode into 8 ohms. Anthracite black chassis with anodized aluminum front panel.

The Cary Audio CAD 120S push-pull power amplifier operates in class AB, and develops 2 x 60 W in triode and 2 x 120 W in ultra-linear modes into 8 ohms. The operating frequency range of this model is 17 Hz - 23 kHz, the nonlinear distortion coefficient is less than 1%, and the noise level is less than 80 dB.
The user can independently change the operating mode of the amplifier (triode or ultralinear) using a switch on the front panel, depending on his preferences or the genre of music being listened to. Each channel of the amplifier uses 6SN7 and 6SL7 tubes (input and driver stages, respectively), and four KT88 pentodes are installed at the output. The amplifier circuit is fully balanced, and the CAD 120S is equipped with both single-ended (RCA) and balanced (XLR) inputs. A special circuit is provided to delay the supply of anode voltage to the lamps when the power is turned on (“soft start”) for about three minutes, which can significantly extend the service life of expensive output lamps.
The amplifier circuit uses the highest quality components - Kimber capacitors, bifilar wound output transformers and 1% metal film resistors. To connect the acoustics, gold-plated screw terminals of Cary Audio's own production are used. The amplifier's power supply contains filter capacitors with a total capacity of 2240 μF. The power and output transformers are hidden in a protective shielded casing, which prevents the impact of electromagnetic interference on the sensitive input circuits of the amplifier. A special anti-resonance chassis minimizes the impact of external and internal vibrations on the tubes and other components of the circuit, significantly improving the sound quality of the entire amplifier. The front panel of the CAD 120 S, which houses the tube bias current indicators for each channel, is made of silver-plated aluminum, while the top panel is finished in black Jaguar Anthracite lacquer.
