Stereo amplifier: Marantz PM KI RUBY (Gold)
The device has a fully discrete two-stage design. The preamp section is powered by a toroidal transformer for the purest sound, and the final stage uses a Hypex NCore switching unit (similar to the PM-10) and delivers 100 watts per channel (8 ohms). This design reduces the effect of the output section on the sensitive pre-amp circuits. The latest HDAM SA3 amplification modules are on board to ensure excellent dynamics and detail, high slew rate and minimal noise. Current feedback is used, which provides a wide frequency response, excellent transient response and sound transparency across the entire frequency band, and also allows the PM-KI RUBY to handle even low-impedance speakers.
The amplifier is equipped with a Musical Premium Phono EQ MM / MC phono stage, which is equipped with HDAM modules, JFET transistors, does not use coupling capacitors and has a low noise level.
The case received thick aluminum panels and a two-layer copper-plated chassis, due to which “immunity” to mechanical vibrations and electrical interference is achieved. The thickness of the top cover, for example, is 5 mm. The top edge of the bezel features a laser engraved replica of Ken Ishawata's signature and a miniature ruby inlay. The amplifier is equipped with a linear high-precision volume attenuator, and carefully selected components are installed in its circuits: Schottky diodes, low-noise transistors, high-quality MELF resistors, custom-made electrolytic capacitors, film and mica capacitors for audio, etc.
The model has a wide range of analog inputs, with CD and Phono inputs using special nickel-plated copper RCA connectors. There are recording/monitoring loops and direct entry to the end section. For speakers, there are two pairs of branded screw terminals. There are D-Bus sockets and FCBS bus connectors, allowing you to assemble a Marantz PM-KI RUBY multi-amp controlled system, which is convenient for bi-amping or multi-channel connections. A switch is placed in the rear of the case, which switches the device to Bi-Amp mode.
