The control center of the Caruso R is T+A NavigatorOS: a 7-inch touchscreen brings together all the controls and allows you to display album art directly on the device. The main idea of the NavigatorOS system architecture is to minimize the number of control actions. The settings menu includes all device parameters, from screen brightness to tone adjustments - bass, midrange, treble and Loudness. Additionally, there is a Playscreen, which simultaneously visualizes and provides information: metadata is displayed in exceptionally high quality.
In addition to the touchscreen, the Caruso R can be controlled via the T+A CarusoNavigator app or the standard FM Caruso remote control, which is included.
A slot for a modern CD drive is located above the touch panel. It analyzes the disc's TOC data and transfers it to the Gracenote database, after which the Playscreen can display covers and metadata for many CDs.
The connection area on the rear panel of the Caruso R impresses with its versatility. From the very beginning of its development, the device was conceived as the central element of a multifunctional high-quality Hi-Fi system. A key feature was the support of a wide range of sources in order to avoid any limitations. Analogue and digital inputs cover all needs - from connecting a vinyl player with phono stage to TVs and TV set-top boxes. USB ports are provided for mobile and network sources, and LAN, WLAN and Bluetooth connections are also available.
Signal processing is handled by the SC 100, T+A's streaming client. Caruso is the first device to use the SC 100, which enables access to services such as Gracenote Music ID, Airable Music Services, Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay and Amazon Music via Alexa. Internet capabilities are not just used – they are taken to a whole new level.
