Active subwoofer REL T5i Piano Black

The REL T5i Piano Black active subwoofer is housed in a relatively compact cubic-shaped cabinet with a chic black lacquer finish. The device is equipped with an updated 8-inch woofer, the mass of the cone of which has been reduced while increasing rigidity.

A wide elastic suspension allows the diffuser to move with a large amplitude and at the same time dampens parasitic vibrations. The woofer is mounted on a steel anti-resonant chassis, which ensures the absence of sound distortion even at high volumes.

The woofer is located on the bottom panel and is directed to the floor, which makes the distribution of bass in the room more even. In order to ensure that the quality of the low frequencies does not depend on the type of flooring, the REL T5i Piano Black is installed on supports, the design of which has been optimized for this model. Unlike many modern subwoofers, this unit is equipped with a classic class A/B Hi-Fi amplifier.

This required the installation of a more powerful power supply, as well as the adoption of special measures to effectively remove heat from the output stages, but made it possible to obtain a more musical and balanced sound. This makes the REL T5i Piano Black perfect for use not only in home theaters, but also in high-end stereo systems.

On the rear panel of the device there are inputs: high-level, represented by the Neutrik connector, and two low-level - linear, and for the channel of low-frequency effects (LFE) of the surround sound processor. There are also separate signal level controls for the high-level / linear and LFE inputs, a knob for adjusting the frequency of the input filter in the range from 30 to 120 Hz, as well as a switch for the absolute phase of the signal 0/180 degrees.

An interesting feature of this model is the ability to connect an external proprietary Arrow wireless module (purchased separately), which uses uncompressed audio signal transmission technology to preserve the original sound quality. The signal is transmitted at a distance of up to 13.7 meters from the source.
