The Monitor Audio Silver W 12 6 G active subwoofer develops truly powerful and deep bass and can be used to sound large rooms. As with all speakers in the updated 6 G series , the subwoofer uses a range of audio technologies developed and deployed for the Platinum Series II high - end models . This provided speakers with an index of 6 G excellent sound quality at a very reasonable cost.

The Monitor Audio Silver W 12 6 G subwoofer is made in a relatively small, closed cabinet made of 25 mm thick MDF with deep internal damping. To strengthen the structure of the subwoofer, internal radial ties are provided. On the front panel of the cabinet is a large 12 inch woofer with a combined C - CAM cone . This light and rigid diaphragm, which is not subject to parasitic vibrations, is mounted on a triple suspension and is able to move linearly with a large amplitude. The speaker has a powerful magnet system, a voice coil with a diameter of 3 inches and is mounted on an anti-resonance chassis integrated into the front panel.

The Monitor Audio Silver W 12 6 G subwoofer uses a 500W Class D amplifier manufactured by Hypex . It has increased overload capacity thanks to the new impulse technology. To control the sound of the subwoofer, a proprietary 32-bit DSP is used with the ARC automatic calibration system . Using the connected microphone, the system analyzes the characteristics of the sounded room and adjusts the parameters of the Monitor Audio Silver W 12 6 G so that it sounds best from the listener's position. The same processor constantly analyzes the operation of the subwoofer, preventing distortion at signal peaks. There are also three sound equalization settings, Movie , Music and Impact , best suited to the various content being played. The control panel is mounted on top of the case for easy access. The subwoofer provides a trigger input for remote on/off control, as well as an automatic standby mode if there is no signal input for a certain time.
