Description of TransRotor Dark Star turntable:
The platform, platter and base of the tonearm are made of high-density POM (Poly-Oxy-Methylen) polymer, which is somewhere between acrylic and aluminum in terms of damping properties. Round, height-adjustable silicone rubber feet isolate the TransRotor Dark Star Reference turntable from external mechanical influences.
The main bearing is the same as in the Transrotor Z1 and Z3 models. A hardened axle with a diameter of 10 mm is immersed in a brass shaft and rests on a steel ball. A 60 mm thick disc sits tightly on a flywheel mounted on an axle. On the lower part of the disk, shallow concentric grooves are made to reduce the level of vibrations.
The synchronous motor is installed in a round case made of the same POM, a heavy pancake made of copper-zinc alloy is pressed into its base - for stability. The rotation speed of 33/45 rpm is set electronically. Belt - round, made of non-drying silicone.
