The 2LP vinyl disc Waldeck: Gran Paradiso is the fourth studio album released in 2016. It was co-written with Viennese singer Heidi Moussa-Benamma (la Heidi), who features on eight of the thirteen tracks. The album combines elements of trip-hop, downtempo and reggae. This is Waldeck's first major release since 2007's Ballroom Stories.

Viennese electronic musician Klaus Waldeck - most recently known for his legendary album "Ballroom Stories" (2007) - has made us wait a long time. The anticipation is great, and Waldeck has prepared a surprise for us: all the tracks were sung in Italian - thanks to the new fantastic discovery of the Viennese singer Heidi Moussa-Benammar ("La Heidi").

Waldeck himself would like Gran Paradiso to be called "Spaghetti and Western". Gran Paradiso, on the one hand, is a tribute to the legendary sound of the Italian Western, on the other hand, it also traces the sentimental sounds of the Italian canzone - but always with the necessary ironic distance. The sound of the album bears the unmistakable signature of Waldeck. Random notes of tango, dub and reggae round out this varied summer album. All in all: a relaxed summer album that you also like to listen to in autumn and winter to keep warm.
