Pro-Ject The Classic Evo Quintet Red Walnut Turntable
The new Classic Evo player builds on the successful EISA award winner The Classic and the experience to add key changes to the Classic Evo by adding performance features rarely seen at this price point. To improve comfort, an electronic speed change has been built in, which allows you to switch from 33 to 45 rpm (and vice versa) at the touch of a button.

The heavy aluminum plate uses advanced thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) to optimize resonance behavior. The disadvantage for most older designs was the circle itself. All of the cast plates were heavy (which is good for speed consistency and low knock levels). The Classic Evo circle is precision-crafted from a special aluminum alloy, again dampened with TPE.
The precision diamond-cut aluminum plate, as in the limited edition Vienna Philharmonic Recordplayer, allows for significantly improved performance. This extremely complex part is precisely machined and guarantees very good isolation between bearing noise and the disc itself.
The radical new classic tonearm is the result of 25 years of experience in mechanical design. The tonearm tube is made from a carbon/aluminum sandwich: carbon for stiffness and speed, and better damping. The bearing has been upgraded to the same type used in the Pro-Ject CC EVO tonearms. This facilitates friction-free vertical and horizontal movement, ensuring accurate tracking throughout the duration of the recording. The counterweight includes a TPE damper that reduces the amplitude of the resonant frequency of the tonearm cartridge by 50%.
The Ortofon Quintet Red moving coil cartridge comes as standard. However, since the tonearm also provides excellent damping and flexibility, its effective mass can be described as medium-heavy, so it is also a very good partner for MC cartridges.
