Turntable PRO-JECT RPM 1 CARBON (n/c)

The updated version of the Pro-Ject RPM 1 Carbon turntable has an improved design compared to the basic version, and is also equipped with a new tonearm.

Externally, the player has not changed - it has a recognizable minimalist design and high-quality exterior finish. The low-resonance RPM 1 Carbon chassis features an updated precision-machined inverted ceramic ball bearing. Such a bearing has a reduced coefficient of friction and ensures smooth rotation of the disk at any speed. The lead motor is mechanically decoupled from the chassis and powered by a precision alternator with an external power supply. This solution improved the stability of the disk rotation speed and reduced the level of parasitic vibrations. The player can play discs at 33 1/3 or 45 rpm, which can be switched manually.

The support disc of the turntable is made of fiberboard, has a diameter of 300 mm and is complemented by a felt mat. The belt from the engine runs along the outer edge of the disc. The turntable is equipped with a new S-shaped 8-inch tonearm, the tube of which is made of carbon fiber, aluminum and resin. In the manufacture of the tonearm, its structure is sintered under high pressure, as a result of which all mechanical stresses leave the material, and the degree of its damping increases many times over. Such characteristics allow you to install not only MM, but also highly sensitive MC pickups on the tonearm, which is rare for entry-level turntable models. The Pro-Ject RPM 1 Carbon features a new magnetic anti-skating system for easier setup and a dampened TPE counterweight. The latter also made it possible to further reduce the level of vibrations induced on the head.

The Pro-Ject RPM 1 Carbon is available with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge or without a cartridge. This model is available in three lacquer finishes - black, red or white. The RPM 1 Carbon has a very high quality-price ratio, which has been confirmed by tests in specialized publications.
