In the RPM 10 Carbon (n/c) turntable, Pro-Ject has applied its latest developments in anti-resonance design and damping technology. The player has a massive drop-shaped chassis, the larger radius of which repeats the radius of the platter, and the smaller one only slightly exceeds the radius of the support for the tonearm. In combination with a multi-layer construction, this solution made it possible to reduce the parasitic mechanical vibrations induced on the player from the outside, and make it sound as neutral as possible. The chassis consists of MDF boards, carbon fiber and steel granules (in specially calculated internal cavities) - the combination of these materials provided a significant mass and high vibration resistance of the turntable.
The RPM 10 Carbon (n/c) platter is machined from aluminium, has a diameter of 300 mm and weighs 10.4 kg, is damped with TPE polymer and mounted on an inverted ceramic ball bearing. The vinyl coating on the surface of the disc has excellent anti-resonance characteristics and eliminates the need for additional mats. The player uses a belt drive, and the motor is made as a separate device in a massive steel case. Switching speeds (33 or 45 rpm) in this model is electronic, using the built-in Speed Box generator.
The turntable is equipped with a high quality 10 inch 10 cc Evolution tonearm made of carbon fiber. The conical tube of the tonearm is made as a single unit with the cartridge holder and is obtained as a result of a complex technological process consisting of several stages. The tonearm has all the necessary settings and is suitable for installing almost any pickup.
The turntable is mounted on adjustable anti-vibration mounts, but the RPM 10 Carbon comes with an additional 14.5 kg Ground it base plate. When using it, almost complete mechanical decoupling of the player is achieved and the sound is the most detailed and transparent. The RPM 10 Carbon (n/c) also comes with a high-quality Connect it cable with a five-pin connector and RCA jacks (optionally with a cable with XLR plugs). A dust cover is also available as an option for this model.
