The acoustics reproduce sound in the range of 76 Hz – 21000 Hz with an amplifier output power of 25 W per channel. The amplifier is located in the housing of one speaker, and the second, connected to it, is passive. The manufacturer has equipped it with a wide range of inputs: digital USB-B and optical. As well as analog mini-jack and RCA, capable of acting as line or phono. Bluetooth connectivity is provided. There is a subwoofer output. The black cabinets are made of MDF. The kit includes 2 speakers, a network cable, a USB cable, audio cables and a remote control.

Klipsch Reference R-40PM is an active compact bookshelf speaker from the Reference series. The model uses Tractrix horns with improved geometry, and also features new cabinet damping and new separation filters. In addition, it supports wired and Bluetooth connections and can be controlled by remote control.

The design of the acoustics combines new elements and the recognizable style inherent in the company's products. The outside of the housing is covered with a durable textured film imitating natural wood. The Klipsch R-40PM protective mesh provides magnetic fixation, which eliminates the presence of unnecessary elements on the front panels of the speaker.

Klipsch R-40PM have a two-way configuration and are equipped with a bass reflex port, the output of which is located on the rear panel. The speaker's woofer features a die-cast IMG cone with an outer copper lining. Thus, Klipsch continues to focus on the combination of black and golden-copper colors in its design, which makes the acoustics recognizable among competitors. However, to protect the speakers or change the design, you can install mesh on the front panels. Due to complete acoustic transparency, the meshes have no effect on the sound.

The 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter is housed in a square Trastrix horn (90 x 90 degrees). In the new models, its shape is smoother, and the company logo is applied to its lower edge - another change in the design of the models of the new Reference Base series. The tweeter dome features a linear travel dome (LTS) design that was previously only found on the company's high-end models. The suspension is made of Kapton - a polyamide film, which is also new for models in this series.

Linear, optical, USB and Bluetooth inputs are provided for connection to the amplifier.

Thanks to the built-in high-quality amplifier, the Klipsch R-40PM is a completely universal model; it does not require a phono stage or the like. Thanks to its self-sufficiency, the model can be used with a TV to watch movies, stream music, play games and the like. There is also the possibility of additionally connecting a subwoofer.
