Pro-Ject has always made products and investments that are not mainstream. While everyone was jumping on the CD bandwagon, we started with turntables! Now that everyone is moving to streaming, we're investing in a revolutionary new CD player.

We believe in listening to music mindfully and that there are many people who deeply share this belief. Just like with analog records, people want physical media in their hands. And this is true for CDs too! Most of us, just like with analog records, are still going to put most of our CDs on a hard drive or store them in the basement. But many people want to keep their best discs, and to do that they need a real CD player. Very high quality, but not too expensive.

True Redbook CD players have become rare, and true high-end mechanisms no longer exist. Today we know that the drive is very important for reading CDs accurately. The mechanics of many drives are difficult to cope with reading CDs and use audio interpolation for this, which often negatively affects the sound quality. As a result, the CD media can gain an unfavorable reputation, so it's time to once again create the perfect, top-notch CD player.

Only the player matters because many already have a very good DAC, which means we don't need to add a DAC and increase the cost. So we've focused on making the best CD player we can.

The CD Pro-8 servo system is integrated directly into the aluminum housing. The entire body is suspended on a proprietary anti-vibration system, which allows you to control the level of external vibrations reaching the inside of the device. The CD mechanism is stabilized and reliably protected, not subject to external influences.

Vibration dampers are installed on a very rigid carbon fiber chassis, which further helps isolate the CD loader from external influences. In addition, the entire chassis is rigidly connected to the body of the CD Box RS2 T itself. This design provides excellent rigidity of the entire system and at the same time excellent isolation from the entire spectrum of vibrations. The CD mechanism is equipped with an improved clamp made of a new aluminum alloy. It is perfectly balanced and ensures perfect contact between the disk and the drive, allowing for smooth rotation and perfect reading of information from the disk.

Purely a data transfer device, the optical and coaxial S/PDIF outputs allow you to connect your favorite high-end DAC. AES/EBU digital output via XLR goes a step beyond the quality of optical and coaxial signals, and at the very top, the CD Box RS2 T offers I²S+ Masterclock output via HDMI. This standard provides an ideal digital connection and is an ideal solution to overcome the limitations of other forms of digital audio connections. This makes it the ideal companion for our Pre Box RS2, taking full advantage of this digital transmission standard. With output options, all the care and attention that went into designing the CD drive will not go to waste.

The elimination of on-board converter and preamp electronics ensures that these parts will not interfere with ideal CD reading and will allow the use of high-end DACs.

Pro-Ject uses the new high-tech CD-Pro 8 drive with the Blue Tiger CD-84 servo board for the first time. The drive, chassis, gimbal and servo board are all new designs that deliver unparalleled CD performance at this price point.

The massive chassis will never fail or deform under high temperatures. The sled gears run on precision steel axles. The chassis is precision milled from a single block of aluminum, and each turntable is machined from steel and chrome plated. This is very important for transportation and guarantees a long service life.

The suspension system consists of a carbon fiber rigid plate, carbon fiber tubes, springs, silicone dampers and screws. The turntable's suspension, cover and platter are made from 100% real carbon fiber.

The CD Box RS2 T is equipped with a sophisticated, ultra-precise drive with new mechanical properties for reading a perfectly bit stream of data.

The rugged chassis and electronics surrounding this drive deliver a perfect, jitter-free signal to a variety of outputs. We can proudly say that it is the best CD player ever and the perfect partner for many of the premium DACs currently available.

The CD Box RS2 T comes in a finely crafted, beautiful and elegant aluminum housing in silver or black. The package also includes a new remote control in a new all-aluminum housing.
