Floor-standing speakers DALI Opticon 8 MK2 Satin Black

The large Opticon 8 MK2 floorstanding loudspeaker is the flagship and driving force of the new Opticon MK2 series. This is the only 3-way speaker in the series. It has on board two 8-inch wood fiber woofers with SMC (Soft Magnet Compound) technology, borrowed from the flagship DALI Epicon series, as well as a 6-inch midrange driver.

The Opticon 8 MK2 offers an optional two-wire connection that allows you to connect bass, mid/treble frequencies independently. The Opticon 8 MK2 speaker system features a hybrid tweeter sandwiched between two widely spaced woofers/midrange drivers. This is done, firstly, to position the midrange and tweeters at typical heights for optimal listening, and secondly, to take advantage of the predominantly smoother low-frequency response throughout the room. Above the Opticon 8 MK2 midrange driver sits a DALI hybrid tweeter that combines a new 29mm Callisto soft dome driver with a 17 x 45mm ribbon tweeter.

The Opticon 8 MK2 enclosure uses separate internal sections for each driver with non-linear baffles that dampen internal resonance and also significantly increase the rigidity of the enclosure. Each low frequency section has its own Dual Flare Reflex port.

Thanks to its size and true three-way format, the Opticon 8 MK2 offers a level of performance unmatched by any other Opticon model. It combines enormous low frequency range, high sound intensity and dynamic precision with remarkable detail and clarity that results from the use of a dedicated midrange driver. The hybrid tweeter's treble is crisply detailed and distinct, yet smooth and incredibly enjoyable to listen to.
