Paradigm Studio 60 v.5 is an entry-level Hi-End floor-standing speaker system, which, despite its compact dimensions, demonstrates extremely energetic clear bass and excellent musical qualities, which, along with high resolution and excellent localization, allows us to recommend it to lovers of dynamic and energetic music. styles.
The use of Paradigm Studio 60 v.5 acoustic systems will give its owner real pleasure, regardless of the place of its use and area. These acoustics will not create resonance in your room, even if you install systems in a room of 16-17 square meters.
Paradigm is one of the few companies that relies exclusively on its own developments, including dynamic heads. In the described model, this is the already proven inch dome tweeter with a metal membrane and liquid cooling of the voice coil. The rest of the spectrum is reproduced by two low-frequency drivers, the range of which, in turn, is divided by second-order filters at frequencies of 500 and 2000 Hz. Thus, we are dealing with a typical 2.5-way setup, where a pair of speakers work together on the bass, and one of them also captures the midrange. Such a system is cheaper than a three-way system, which requires high-quality crossovers, and the differences in sound are not too significant. One bass-reflex port of the Studio 60 is placed on the front panel, the second is on the back, which allows you to place the speakers near the walls without compromising the sound. Connection to the amplifier is also possible in a two-wire way.
On the example of other Studio models, we have already noted that the sound of the fifth generation speakers has become much more linear. Here, no coloration is noticeable in the entire reproducible range, moreover, in terms of the manner in which musical recordings are presented, the speakers really resemble studio monitors, in many respects justifying their name. The sound of the "sixties" does not seem too bright and pretentious, they obviously do not try to demonstrate their own character, but "only" present the record unchanged, without changing the original idea of the sound engineer. This approach is not often found even in more expensive systems, not to mention speakers costing around fifty thousand. But to say that Studio 60v.5 absolutely does not show itself would be wrong. If desired, you can find a number of minor omissions in the upper band, some depletion of timbres at low frequencies and not too open mids. In general, the sound deserves high praise and will find a lot of fans among fans of accurate, neutral reproduction.
There were no obvious shortcomings in creating a spatial picture with these loudspeakers either. The scene has a properly sustained scale and dimensions, localization is quite clear. There may be a little lack of separation in depth, but for systems of this cost, the qualities described above are an undoubted success.
