The Polk Audio PSW 111 subwoofer combines many of the company's advanced technologies developed in this class of acoustics into a cubic foot cabinet. This compact sub is perfect for even small rooms where it will be almost invisible, but it will provide powerful, fast and quite deep bass.

Such characteristics of the Polk Audio PSW 111 were ensured by the use of the proprietary Dynamic Balance concept - a combination of correctly selected materials for the woofer, body geometry, and electronic circuitry with precise engineering calculation. The Klippel distortion analyzer, based on computer simulation technology, maximized the performance of the 8-inch woofer by optimizing the design of its magnetic system. The diffuser's suspension has also been fine-tuned in terms of flexibility to allow it to move freely and at a high amplitude, while at the same time dampening any stray vibrations. The cone of the woofer is made of a composite material, due to which, with a small mass, it has high mechanical rigidity. The built-in amplifier is rated at 300 watts, and its output stages are sized to achieve maximum load damping for a focused and detailed bass.

The woofer in the Polk Audio PSW 111 subwoofer is loaded onto a phase inverter, the outlet of which is brought to the bottom panel, in order to achieve a uniform distribution of sound waves in the listening room. The body of the subwoofer, made of thick MDF, is equipped with specially designed internal ties to dampen parasitic vibrations and is damped. The subwoofer is equipped with stereo line, LFE and acoustic inputs, which provides the flexibility to connect both in home theater and in two-channel sets. To adjust the sound of the PSW 111, there are controls for the signal level and the frequency of the input filter. There is also a switch for the absolute phase of the signal and a circuit for automatically turning on the subwoofer when a signal appears at the input and turning it off after it has been absent for a certain time.
